Dance Fitness Class (Lower Body)

While in a dance class, the lower body is constantly used and with the amount of different uses of the legs and hips, could cause some major injury if fallen on or used incorrectly for a long amount of time. When there is so much stress going on in your legs, parts that are weaker (not as much muscle and use) will keep a repetitive strain on those muscles.
The most common injuries during these classes are Shin Splints (pain in front of the lower leg), Anterior Knee Injury, Lower Back Strain and Sprained or Twisted Ankles. In dance classes, these injuries mostly occur when the person doing the exercise changes a routine, frequency or the intensity of the exercise. Always stop if you feel uncomfortable or hurting in anyway.
